Early labour market transitions of women in low income African countries

Gender inequality is a major barrier to women’s ability to improve and control their economic status. Working across six Sub-Saharan African countries, AWIA investigates a key life stage, young women’s transitions from school to work or motherhood. It looks at the causes and key associations of female disadvantage, and how these can shape their pathways to adult life.
